Striped Chocolate Peppermint Cookies: Scratch Version

Ingredients

Chocolate Cookies:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. plus 6 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 C. plus 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/3 C. granulated sugar
  • 2/3 C. packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 C. plain yogurt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

Melted White Chocolate

Crushed Candy Canes

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line pans with parchment paper
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa
  3. 3. In another bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, yogurt and vanilla extract.
  4. 4. Add dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  5. 5. Place walnut sized scoops onto cookie sheets 2 inches apart and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  6. 6. Let cool.
  7. 7. Drizzle or pipe melted white chocolate and immediately sprinkle with crushed candy canes.
