-Welcome to Doughnut Wars-
Even though there were people bustling all around us, I still felt alone. But more importantly, I felt afraid standing there in the open.
Only Miss Chelsea was there to protect me and the precious cargo. Looking back on it now, I knew we didn’t stand a chance.
One down. And then another. And then a double hit over my shoulder.
No matter how many hands we dodged, we just didn’t have the support to get them all.
I knew we were nearing the end.

¼ cup milk
¼ cup sour cream
2 tablespoons butter, soft
Vanilla Sugar Glaze:
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup powdered sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly spray a doughnut pan (yield 4-6 doughnuts).
2. Combine butter and sugar.

4. In a separate bowl, sift flours, cocoa, baking powder and salt together.
5. In thirds, add dry ingredients, alternating between dry and milk/ sour cream.
6. Mix only until combined and so not over mix.
7. Fill doughnut pans ¾ full using a piping bag with a circle tip.

Oh! Wow! Does that look fantastic – or what??? After dipping warm doughnuts in glaze I will be tempted to wolf them down!!! They are gorgeous!! Will definitely make them, but have to get wheat pastry flour first!!!! Thanks!
Yay can't wait to try these! Do you have to use pastry flour, or can you just replace it with more flour?
I think you could get away with using only flour. I just had it on hand, so I used it.
I need a doughnut pan to make these! I posted your link on my Friday Favorites.
Looks like I need a doughnut pan! Fun.
Thanks for a great recipe! I made these earlier today and they were delicious. Family was excited! We bought the pans at Target recently and made the recipe that came with the pans, they were okay but next time I’d leave the nutmeg out of it. Really happy I found this recipe. Thanks again!!
