The Story:
For men over 40, a mustache is fine. But for all the boys who attend my college and have a mustache, it means you don’t want a date. It just looks creepy and no one take you seriously, sorry boys!
So for father’s day, bake up some cupcakes (your papa’s favorite) and stick a mustache on it to give him a good laugh. I used chocolate molds, but you can use fondant, melted chocolate piped onto wax paper and then cooled, or even construction paper! Kids would have a ton of fun cutting out their own mustaches. Then stick them on to serve!

Mustache Cupcakes

Chocolate Cake:
- 1 box Devil's Food Cake Mix

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 8 oz cream cheese softened

Mustaches
Instructions
-
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line pans with cupcake liners.
-
2. Sift cake mix into a small bowl and set aside (I like to use Pillsbury).
-
3. Combine eggs, oil, milk, sour cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
-
4. Add cake mix and stir well.
-
5. Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full and bake for 15-20 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.
-
5. Frosting: Beat butter and cream cheese for 2 minutes. Add vanilla extract and slowly add powdered sugar until you reach your desired consistency. Add milk to thin out if needed.
-
6. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and top with a mustache!

these are too cute. thanks for the inspiration!
This is an amazing post, also students’ approach to CIPD assignment writing help in learning writing tricks to draft creative projects and have extra time for baking delicious cakes.
Thanks, Lizzy. You are very creative. I have been looking around blogs, today to get some ideas for father’s day gift. The mustache is a such a great idea. My father is not a cupcake person, he is more a quick bread person. Can the cake mix make quick bread? I will have slide of the quick bread with the mustache.
I also I agree with you, I don’t like guys in mustache, either. It is strange that my father doesn’t have beard today (he is 50), but he had it in his 20s.
Really creative! I am sure my daughter will enjoy as we make this treat for her daddy, although I am pretty sure she’ll still need help for the moustache. Thanks for sharing!
These are too cute! I showed them to my mom and sister and it put a smile on all of our faces. Also, I totally agree with you about the mustache thing. Mustache=not cute!
what a brilliant idea and soooo cute!!!
such a cute idea!! quick question for you, Lizzy Mae, do you know the difference between Dutch-processed cocoa powder and regular cocoa powder? thanks! 🙂
It’s just the treatment of the beans before they are crushed. Dutch processed doesn’t react to baking soda, only baking powder.
ooooohhhhh okay thank you! 😀
haha, I love the mustache, great story, wonderful recipe…
Hi ! I would like to know how you make the mustaches ?
I used chocolate molds!
my frosting is not stiff n ADDED5 CUPS of sugar 🙁
Where did you find this chocolate mold?? It is adorable!
I got it from a local decorating shop!
Do you know if they are available to buy online? Or what the brand is?
I am looking for molds this size and am having trouble finding them that small. The only mold I can find are larger ones to make suckers. What is the name of the shop you bought them at?
I got them at gygi’s in SLC Utah. But it was on the same mold as a sucker’s mold! They are pretty generic, I’m sure you can find them online too!
Hey! How do you make the mustache’s, I’m having my 16th birthday party and these will be cool to have!!
I made them using chocolate molds, they are really common
These are so cute! I’m totally using these for my boyfriend’s birthday. He’s one of those mustache wannabes {and he doesn’t believe me when I say it looks creepy!}
Awesome! Its in fact amazing post, I have got much clear idea
