What a great idea, I love the white and dark chocolate mix. You could probably add in different candies for the varying holidays, too! Pinned 🙂
Looks yummy. Maybe add some peanuts or pretzels for crunch and salt! Or maybe candycorn? The options are endless.
please remove this, chocolate kills many dogs every year, it is pure poison to them, please remove ASAP, in the name of DOG. TYVM
YUM!!! I know these as Muddy Buddies…but this is an excellent way to make them holiday appropriate!!! Thanks!
Sometimes, the treats don’t need to be very fancy. This would get devoured at my house!
Looks awesome! I’m making it this weekend for a family get together!
Just to let you know on your Halloween Puppy Chow recipe, if it is for puppies it could be lethal. Cats or Dogs cannot have Chocolate. We have a dachsund that almost died from getting into our chocolate. Just a warning on grapes & raisens too.
Looks so yummy!! Just pinned!
I couldn’t wait to try this, so I made it the other day. Yum! I love the two different colors. I used Cinnamon Chex for the white chocolate pieces and that gives it a little extra lovely flavor. Thanks for a great recipe!
Looks wonderful! Any idea if it will work with natural peanut butter?
Yes, it should work just fine!
I used natural peanut butter. Tasted fantastic. Big hit at work..
Just made this! Made a HUGE batch! Pretty happy:)
Hi! This sounds like a wonderful snack, especially for the holidays. Can you tell me the best way to store this recipe? Also, how long can it be stored?
Thank You!
DEE
I store it in a tupperware or a plastic bag. It stays good for a few days, it’s just chocolate, so nothing should really ever spoil.
Hi! I just made this for the first time today. My first time, in fact, to ever make puppy chow. It is so good! I can’t wait to take this as little fall treats for my co-workers. Great recipe and super easy. Thanks!
We are going to make this to put in lil baggies for the Fireman at the station were my daughter girls scout troop meets as xmas thanks. I think I will add chocolate cover pretzels & mini marshmallows.
Hi There!!
I was wondering what app/program you use to add your text on your photos?
Thank you in advance 🙂
PicMonkey.com!
This sounds great! I hope that you have given this person permission to use your photos without credit: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4683049014822&set=a.3890785088719.115142.1851755559&type=1
I did not… thanks so much for letting me know. That stuff happens all the time, it breaks my heart to see people taking credit for my content. I work really hard to create original content.
your post photo and instructions were used here too 🙁 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=462667033840477&set=a.119304161510101.22678.100002915538337&type=1
it’s happened to me and infuriates me 🙁
Darn, that makes me so sad that people take my content and claim it as their own. They even took the time to crop out my name on the photo. 🙁
I love the mix up between white chocolate and regular chocolate! I saw this on facebook, and could tell the person posting took it from somewhere else – so I searched you out 🙂 Thought you might want to know that it’s over there without giving credit to you…but I did leave a link in their comments back here for you.
Thanks! Yeah, it’s all really sad 🙁
oh and I just saw that someone above me already gave you that link 🙂 Sorry people are so rude!
As long as this isn’t actually fed to dogs or puppies, what with chocolate being toxic to dogs.
Finding this through Pinterest, there was no disclaimer that this refers to human food, and some people (myself included) might not know that “puppy chow” refers to a kind of snack mix.
That said, recipe looks awesome and I’ll be trying it this Halloween (just not giving it to the pup)
Definitely going to have to try a version of this! I love peanut butter and Reese’s!
Another embarrasing (in name) recipe. So cute! But how am I going to explain this one, to anyone to whom I serve it? I’m not sure anyone would listen to me give the obvious explanation.
You can call them “Muddy Buddies”! Chex owns that name though, so I try not to call my stuff that.
Love your recipes just switched out the peanut butter for soy butter and now my lil guy can have some
Perfect! You can also always use chocolate “melts” (the little disks of chocolate meant for melting) instead of the chocolate chips and then omit the peanut butter all together! Use about 1/2 C. extra chocolate though.
Just came across your blog today.. LOVE IT!!! Posted 3 recipes in Pinterest but my FAVORITE is the Peanut butter Puppy Chow.. Cute and I LOVE peanut butter!
Puppy chow is so fast and easy to make and great for any party! PB is my favorite too!
I love making puppy chow for my students. Because I like to save money I use almond bark instead of choc. chips. 1 pkg of bark can make two recipes. I also leave out the vanilla and butter. I’ve added nuts and pretzel pieces to the mixture before the 10x sugar.

Hi there, You’ve done an excellent job. I will definitely digg it and personally recommend to my friends.
I am sure they’ll be benefited from this web site.
I’m going to try it, in October. But it’s so embarrassing.
