Cute Bunny Bundt Cakes for Easter Dessert
Easter is coming so it’s time to secretly stash things away for Easter baskets and to plan out our cute Easter themed desserts! I love all the cute decor, pastel colors and bunny treats I get to see this time of year! My Easy Bunny Cupcakes are always a huge hit as well as my Chocolate Dipped Strawberries that look like carrots! This year I wanted to make something using PEEPS that is even easier than my other top Easter treats. These Bunny Bundt Cakes are mini chocolate Bundts with a little chocolate icing and Oreo crumbs and then all I did was press a PEEP bunny into the center! Ta-dah! It looks like a cute little bunny is popping its head out of the ground!
Easy Easter Cake
I am all about easy holiday recipes. Holidays can get so busy and frantic when people focus on the wrong things. Even if you’re not religious like I am when you put Christ at the center of this holiday, holidays like Easter should still be focused on family. If we spend all day slaving away in the kitchen or hiding 400 Easter eggs we miss out on what matters most. Keeping holidays full of fun and tradition is important, but be careful to also keep things simplified where you can. I love these Bunny Bundt Cakes because the kids can help! You can make the cakes the day before or have the kids help you and then they can drizzle on the chocolate icing, sprinkle on Oreo crumbles and stick in the bunny PEEPS.
Bunny Cake
For these cute bunny cakes I used my favorite mini bundt pan which is really more of a mid-sized mini. You can absolutely use a true mini bundt pan, but you’ll need to squish the bunny in a little more and perhaps use some scissors to trim the bunnies down! The chocolate icing will work as “glue” to keep the bunnies in place!
What to Make with PEEPS
You can make these cute Bunny Bundt Cakes leading up to Easter but you can also make them after! Sometimes people get PEEPS in their Easter basket and after 2 or 3 don’t really want to east straight mallows anymore. So use the leftovers to make these bunny cakes! You can use any color of PEEP you want and you can even mix up the cake flavors! I just made mine all chocolate with some Oreo crumbles to make it look like the bunny is popping out of a hole in the ground.
Bunny Bundt Cakes
Ingredients
Chocolate Bundt Cakes
- 1 box Devil's Food Cake Mix I prefer Pillsbury
- 1 box chocolate instant pudding mix
- 4 large eggs
- 2/3 cup oil
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3/4 cup buttermilk or milk
Chocolate Icing
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- Oreo Crumbs
- Bunny PEEPS
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease bundt pans. I used a mid-sized mini bundt pan but you can use a true mini bundt pan!
- Combine all ingredients for chocolate bundt cake and stir until smooth. Fill bundt pans 2/3 full and bake. If you're using a mid-sized mini bundt pan like mine, bake for 17-20 minutes, if you're using a true mini bundt pan bake for 8-10 minutes or until and inserted knife comes out clean.
- Icing: Whisk all ingredients together. Add more powdered sugar if you want the icing thicker! Drizzle over cooled cakes and immediately sprinkle with crushed Oreos to make the cakes look like a bunny hole in the ground! Stick in Bunny PEEPS and enjoy!
How many does this make? These are adorable!
It depends on which pans you use! If you use a true mini bundt pan they will make about 18 but if you use the midsize mini pan I use I got about 8
