I’ve always wanted to taste your tiramisu cupcakes! But I’m lds and I don’t want to dink coffee, can I substitute the coffee for something else?
Hi Ellie!
I’m LDS, too. My uncle was inactive for a long time and took to drinking coffee. After he got married he stopped but missed the beverage. He found a coffee substitute that has the taste but not of the harmful ingredients, called Pero or Perro. It’s more like coffee flavored hot chocolate. I struggle to find it, but my mom doesn’t. If you can’t find it your regular store, a specialty beverage store might carry it or some place like Trader Joe ‘s. I hope this helps. You probably even substitute a caramel flavored hot chocolate for the coffee in the recipe. Good luck!
I’m LDS too! But sometimes I make coffee flavored things because the rest of the world wants them, haha. The flavor of tiramisu is coffee, but Pero is the closest substitution. You can also just make a it a vanilla cupcake and the mascarpone filling and this whipped topping is AMAZING with no coffee.
Thank you so Trisha!!! I’m so excited to try to make those cupcakes now!!!
The Almond Joy cupcakes are amazing. I dream about them.
