Strawberries dipped in chocolate to look like carrots! These Cute Garden Carrot Cupcakes baked in mason jars are the most adorable cupcakes you’ll see this spring! I crushed up some Oreos to make the “dirt” and since they’re baked in a jar they’re perfect for an outdoor party!
Spring is coming! Okay, I saw that and it snowed yesterday in Utah but spring really is just around the corner and want to be ready for all the bridal showers and picnics with some cute desserts! These cakes are perfect because they’re a little bigger than a cupcake (which is a perfect serving size) and they’re easy to eat with a fork or spoon! Eating on a picnic blanket can be tricky enough… don’t give me a dessert that takes an hour to eat! Plus those strawberries, they look so cute! Just like a carrot getting pulled out of the ground.
You’ll need a bag of orange chocolate candy melts to dip your strawberries in! I Dipped mine, let them cool and then drizzled a little extra to give them that perfect carrot look! When I first saw this idea on Something Swanky last year I knew I wanted to do my own take. So I added the mason jars and the Oreos to make it mine ![]()
This was my first time baking cakes in mason jars! But they turned out so cute! I just piped a circle of frosting on and then covered it with crushed Oreos. I nested the chocolate dipped strawberry into the hole in the middle and then it was done!
Here’s my little photo set up in my office! The day was so dreary so getting the lighting right was a little tough….

Here’s my Coming Up Carrots Cupcakes from last year that I love!

These cupcakes are so smart and refined that it’s criminal to eat and destroy them .
On the other side, they look so delicious that I’ll probably be able to be a cupcake killer: )
I feel like that sometimes with the things I make, but these were SO easy and fast to make that I didn’t feel bad about eating them
What size mason jars did you use. I have small ones but they seem smaller than what you used and my next larger size doesn’t have straight sides. Thanks
It looks like they are 1/2 Pint wide Mouth Jars
How cute are these!?

Thanks – it’s a fab idea for the Easter holidays.
I love the straw-rots
These are really cute!!!!
These are so cute!!
These are adorable! What a unique (and yummy) looking idea! Never would have guessed those were strawberries.
Right? They’re just the cutest things! It would be fun to top off a chocolate trifle or dirt pudding with those strawberries too
I adore these!! And I’ve never baked in mason jars. Totally trying it!
These are just adorable! I was just wondering if you are going to have a givaway soon…
These are so adorable!
These where not good and the candy melts do not go with the flavour of the strawberry. They looked nice but the taste was horrid. ( I got the exact packet of candy melts, in date etc) wouldn’t reccomend to make
Sophia, that’s not nice to say. Even if they weren’t good, you should’ve kept that comment to yourself.
There’s nothing wrong with what Sophia said Hannah, it’s her opinion. I personally would’ve used melted white chocolate colored w/ orange food coloring instead of the candy melts. Is my comment “not nice” too?
There are adorable and look so sweet! How many cupcakes does this recipe make???
Guau!!!! this cupcakes are amazing!!! I love your recipes….
Kiss from Spain. See you.

What size mason jars are used for these? 4 oz seems too small, 16 seems too big
Can I use any other types of cake mix for this recipe?
