Place cookies in a tupperware and chill for at least an hour. Serve these treats chilled, they are MUCH better that way. And don't eat all of them yourself! 🙂

These were delicious Lizzy – thanks for sharing with us! It was fun to meet you in person too! Don't fatten Clark up too much:)
Can I use a white cake mix instead of devils food?
Holy Cow these look AMAZING!!!!! Wow.
OMG OMG OMG OMG <3 them. They are the best cake kind of meal i have evar tasted !!!!!!!
Oh my! They look incredible. Job well done!
These cupcakes look SO good!
Well, these were delicious and a big hit. I tried to make them a bit smaller, so it would make more for a crowd. They were still good, but didn't flatten much. Next time I'll make them bigger, so they look more like the picture. The frosting inside them was sooo good:) Everything on your site looks amazing. I'm excited to keep trying new things!
hey is does it have to be devils's food mix or can it be something else?
I think any mix would probably work out
Aw. My boyfriend LOVES oreos, but HATES cream cheese.
These were so awesome! They definitely are better chilled! (It keeps the filling from dripping out.) I made my filling not too sweet so it ended up tasting like cheesecake! I also served them open faced because they were very rich as actual sandwiches.
Jennifer- Open-faced is wonderful for these, especially if you put half a strawberry or a raspberry on top 🙂
Wow, I'm going to have to make these. I like that the cookie part looks so soft and cake-like. I don't like crunchy cookies, so these look fantastic!
I made these for a group of friends and everyone went crazy for them! When you first bite one, you think, "this is yummy,", but when the flavor and richness of the cookie really sets in, it becomes, "Oh my…this is perfection." The cookie part is to die for-soft, decadent, fudgy- and the filling is delicious too (even though I forgot to add the vanilla!) Thank you for sharing your recipes Lizzy; can't wait to try more! Oh, and super cute blog by the way 🙂
I love these when i made them as chocolate Oreos and so did my family!(as early posted)
But as fall is rolling around I was thinking how yummy this would be with pumpkin cake. I've always made pumpkin cake with spice cake mix and then add canned pumpkin..
Any suggestions Lizzy?
Jennifer, we are the same person. Already have plans to make a pumpkin version tomorrow. Recipe should be up on Thursday!
That's awesome, I can't wait!! If they're as good as the Oreos I'll have to bring that to Thanksgiving dinner instead of pie!
This blog is amazing! I can't wait to try these reipes. Thank you for sharing!
Just made these and they are super EASY!!! My fiance is really impressed!
ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!! Made them for my son's going away party before basic training — they were a HIT! Thanks so much for sharing them on Pinterest <3
oooooo those look soooo good!! they look so much better than woopie pies. YUM!!!!
These look amazing! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Hellow, erm is there an alternative for the cream cheese…. just wondering =D
You can just use butter! But they won’t be as good… 🙂
Thanks!
I didn’t have any cream cheese @ hand so i was wondering… but i’ll wait until tommorow (when we go for our weekly shop).
CAN’T WAIT to make these!!!!!!
🙂
Please answer asap as i am making these tommorow (definitely!)
How many cookies/oreos on average does this recipe make?!
Thanks, you’re a lifesaver! 🙂
About 12-15 sandwiches!
Just made these beauties. Delicious! My only question is: what type of oil did you use with the cake mix and eggs? I used regular ole’ vegetable oil.
Thats what I used! you can use canola or melted (then cooled) butter as well
I might try the cooled butter next time. Thanks so much!
I tried making these today and my cookies turned out extremely flat.( I didn’t press them down too much) So I was wondering, what brand of cake mix did you use?
I use Pillsbury!
LOVE this recipe. I eat way too many! Quick question though…both times I’ve made them exactly as described in the instructions, but they turned out extremely flat. Still yummy, but I really want that thick fluffier cookie like in your picture. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Not sure what brand of cake mix you’re using, but I ALWAYS use pillsbury! Give that a shot!
Hey Lizzy, ever tried doubling these? Just wanted to know if they’d turn out the same. Thanx!
I have! They work fine doubling, when I make them for a big party I always do it.
I noticed that in your cookbook it says 1 tsp of vanilla for the filling & on here it says 1/2 tsp. I followed the directions from the cookbook and I think it may be a little too much vanilla. I was curious as to whether you used 1 tsp or 1/2 tsp. thanks so much! 🙂
I like the full 1 tsp… but do what you like best! I LOVE vanilla 🙂
Thanks so much! One last question (sorry). Do you use pure vanilla extract or imitation vanilla?
Always pure 🙂
Hi there! I know thbis is kinda off topic but I’d figured I’d ask.Woud you
bee iterested in tradig links orr maybe guest writing a blog post or

I look forward to hearing from you!Wonderful blog by the way!
Um hi Lizzy, I don’t really like chocolate and I really like Oreo cakesters so can you please make a recipe of vanilla Oreo cakesters? If you already don’t have one.
Vanilla/golden Oreo cakesters
These are good but mine went way too flat when they cooked. Next time i wouldn’t flatten them at all just leave them in a ball.
Hi,
How long the cookies last?
I love this dessert! I even make it a bit healthier, replace the oil with applesauce and for the filling, only use cream cheese and a little sugar. You can also add chopped oreos to add to the filling! Perfect! Can’t wait to try the pumpkin version!
Are you kidding? These are not comparable to store-bought Oreo’s. these are WAY better!!!! Is there a way to freeze these, with or without the filling?
Late to the party, but I’m thinking wouldn’t it be cool if they were more like Oreo and less like a chocolate/vanilla whoopie pie? Perhaps adding crushed oreo to the batter to give that unmistakable flavor? Thinking of how to make it better 😉 Or an oreo ice cream filling? Mind blown!
I added more powdered sugar to the frosting and a bit of cream of tarter so it would hold up a little better. It was perfect!
I have to thank you for the efforts you have puut in penning thyis website.
I really hope to check out the same high-grade blpog posts by you later on as well.
In fact, yoiur creative writing abilities has motivated me to get myy very own blog
now 😉
Hi, I wasn’t wondering if Olive oil would work, I would use apple sauce but don’t have any. Do you think that olive oil would work?
Thanks.
You’ll get a different type of taste! You can always use melted butter!
Hi Lizzy,
Was wondering how long these can last in the fridge after making them?
Thank you.
A week is totally fine! But they’re so good people will eat them at midnight when you’re not around… so watch out!
Thanks in support oof sharing sujch a nice idea, piece of writing is nice, thats why i
have read it fully
It looks perfect and tasty! Can’t wait to have this anytime of the day, love it!
This sounds yummy! I would definitely make it again! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
This valuable recipe works perfectly at high altitude (6,035 ft) with no modifications. Makes 25 cookies exactly. They disappeared in an instant at the choir potluck 😀
I have a question? Can i use BC Chocolate fudge cake mix instead of devils food??? I’ve always used devil’s food but grabbed the wrong cake mix.
I made these for the cookie exchange at work and everyone loved them! Thank you so much for sharing, they are definitely amazing.
Really good and easy! Honestly wasn’t sure I would like them as much as my men in my life, one a true Oreo fan but the frosting was perfect and I have a happy crew 😊😊
Can I use a white cake mix instead of devils food?
I’ve made these probably 6 times now and the only thing I would recommend doing is refrigerating the dough balls for 30 minutes while the oven heats up. Before doing this I could never get them to be as puffy as the picture but after refrigerating they are flawless every time!
