The Story:
“What happens when two bloggers meet in the woods?”
I don’t know, but what happens when two bloggers go on a date? Interesting things happen….
I met his grandpa, we went swing dancing in the kitchen, he attempted to flip me over, and somehow I still ended up covered in flour baking for him.
Lemon Cadbury Puppy Chow
Ingredients
- 10 cups rice Chex cereal
- 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips or melts
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- yellow food dye optional
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp. lemon gelatin powder
1 bag Cadbury Eggs
Instructions
-
1. Place cereal in a large bowl.
-
2. In a microwave proof bowl place white chocolate, butter, lemon zest and lemon juice.
-
3. Melt and stir until smooth.
-
4. Mix in food dye and pour over cereal and gently fold until covered.
-
5. Pour powdered sugar and lemon gelatin (just the jello gelatin is fine) over the cereal and gently stir. (You can also use plastic bags and shake to cover the cereal in sugar.)
-
6. Dump onto cookie sheets and let cool.
-
7. Add Cadbury Eggs and enjoy my favorite flavor combo...lemon and chocolate. Happy Easter!

Is there a temple date set yet?
Haha. Just kidding. But seriously this stuff looks awesome.
And seriously people dating here at BYU can get married like 4 months after their first date, so…
Keep us posted.

I literally laughed out loud in the library reading that! But no, him and I decided to keep it to that one date. Two bloggers would be just too much I think 🙂
Zack Oates says
but certainly a good one date… 😉
Lizzy Mae Early says
Of course it was. I mean, you’re a dating blogger, how could it not have been a great date?
Ms. BettySue Baker says
This looks so yummy! And festive! Can’t wait to make it for Easter! Hope there are more exciting dates like that one to come!!!

Loving all your takes on puppy chow!! This one looks especially amazing since I am totally and utterly addicted to cadbury mini eggs!!!! Help me now!:)
Marilynn says
I haven’t tried your recipe, but my sister made a version of lemon puppy chow, and after is sets, it gets stale. Any suggestions on what to do to prevent this.
Lizzy Mae Early says
Hm… Well puppy chow made without peanut butter needs something else in it to keep it from getting stale, so I think the butter in this recipe will help with that. I didn’t notice it being stale the next day.
Kathy says
May I answer Marilynn’s question? It’s an easy answer. Or first let me ask you a question. WHO LET’S PUPPY CHOW SIT???? The answer is EAT IT!!!! Lizzy, I love all your puppy chow recipes. Thank you so much for doing all the work for us. It really is appreciated. And please don’t leave us hanging. Let us know how things go with your “fellow” blogger. Blessings, Kathy
Lizzy Mae Early says
I have 3 more puppy chow recipes just waited to be posted, so you will be happy about that! One is seriously TO DIE FOR! But this blogger was a one time date, we decided the blogging world wouldn’t be able to handle it if we stayed together.
Kathy says
Sorry I spoke without reading all your earlier answers. Always putting my foot in my mouth!! Unless of course my mouth is full of some of Lizzy’s puppy chow or cup cakes or any of your other nummy foods. Kathy

I was wondering if there is something wrong with the E-mailing list messages because for some reason the pictures dont show up anymore and it doesnt show the recipe. I wasent sure if you’ve changed it or if its messed up?
Lizzy Mae Early says
I’ll look into it! Thanks for letting me know!
Chelsea says
Hey Lizzy I made one of your Puppy Chow recipes and used Wilton colored candy melts in place of white chocolate and it worked brilliantly! No dye needed plus it really brings out the color. Have you tried this? Maybe you have and I just missed it. But I really like all these! Keep them coming!
Lizzy Mae Early says
I actually only use melts 🙂 I get them out of the bargain bins at my grocery store and I LOVE them. Some people just may want a little more yellow, so I put it in as an option.

I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts on the topic of sports predictions, especially in the context of Nigeria. As many of you know, the world of sports betting has gained tremendous popularity, and with it, the demand for accurate predictions has skyrocketed.
One platform that has been particularly helpful for me is BestBet all nigerian predictions https://bestbet.ng/all-sport-predictions-nigeria/. They offer comprehensive coverage of various sports and provide insights that can really help in making informed betting decisions. I appreciate that they focus on all Nigerian predictions, which makes it easy to stay updated on local leagues and events.
