My first Valentine’s Day on the blog… no red velvet anything.  Then the next year I started getting some emails from readers asking about the lack of red, so I gave them three recipes (1 of which is my most popular recipe on Your Cup of Cake).  This year, I went crazy for everything Red Velvet!  Happy Valentine’s Day and enjoy!

  3. I’ve made plenty of strawberry frostings! You can make a strawberry cake by using any of my vanilla cakes and substituting the liquid (milk or buttermilk) for pureed strawberries!

  5. Well if you’re making it for a wedding I would stick to the classic or the white chocolate one! The Oreo and Cake Batter are amazing but maybe not the right choice for a formal affair.

  8. I followed this recipe and I think the cake base is spongy, soft enough, and the cream is not too sweet.
