My first Valentine’s Day on the blog… no red velvet anything. Then the next year I started getting some emails from readers asking about the lack of red, so I gave them three recipes (1 of which is my most popular recipe on Your Cup of Cake). This year, I went crazy for everything Red Velvet! Happy Valentine’s Day and enjoy!
1: Red Velvet Cake Batter Cupcakes
4: Red Velvet Sour Cream Bundt Cake
6: Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies with Cream Cheese Filling
7: Red Velvet Rice Crispy Treats
8: Classic Red Velvet Cupcakes
9: White Chocolate Red Velvet Cupcakes
10: Coconut Red Velvet Cupcakes
11: Strawberry Red Velvet Cupcakes

The only cupcake I haven’t seen you make is a strawberry, but I love all of your red velvet!
Olivia says
Yeah, that would be a good type of cupcake! Yum 🙂

I’ve made plenty of strawberry frostings! You can make a strawberry cake by using any of my vanilla cakes and substituting the liquid (milk or buttermilk) for pureed strawberries!

Hi lizzy
Which red velvet is the most popular one. Would like to make a red velvet for my friends valentine day wedding.
Thank you
Lizzy Mae Early says
Well if you’re making it for a wedding I would stick to the classic or the white chocolate one! The Oreo and Cake Batter are amazing but maybe not the right choice for a formal affair.

I have nominated your for the No Strings Attached Lovely Blog award because you make my mouth water every day! 😉
If someone does not accept awards, well it still stands even if you cannot fulfill the requirements because this is a no strings attached nomination; only fulfill the award if you have time and are inspired.

I followed this recipe and I think the cake base is spongy, soft enough, and the cream is not too sweet.
